വിദിഷ, ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മദ്ധ്യപ്രദേശ് സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ഒരു പട്ടണമാണ്. ഈ പട്ടണം തലസ്ഥാനമായ ഭോപ്പാലിനു സമീപത്താണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. വിദിഷ ജില്ലയുടെ ഭരണകേന്ദ്രവും കൂടിയാണീ പട്ടണം. മദ്ധ്യകാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ ഈ പട്ടണത്തെ ഭെൽസ എന്നും വിളിച്ചിരുന്നു.
ഭൂമിശാസ്ത്രം[തിരുത്തുക]
വിദിഷ പട്ടണം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന അക്ഷാംശ രേഖാംശങ്ങൾ 23°32′N 77°49′E / 23.53°N 77.82°E [3] ആണ്. സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഉയരം 424 മീറ്ററാണ് (1391 അടി).
ജനസംഖ്യ[തിരുത്തുക]
2011 ലെ സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരം[4] വിദിഷ പട്ടണത്തിലെ ജനസംഖ്യ 155,959 ആണ്. ജനസംഖ്യയിൽ പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ പ്രാതിനിധ്യം 53.21 ശതമാനവും സ്ത്രീകളുടേത് 46.79 ശതമാനവുമാണ്. പട്ടണത്തിലെ ജനങ്ങളുടെ സാക്ഷരത 86.88 ശതമാനമാണ്. ഇത് ദേശീയ ശരാശരിയായ 74.04 ശതമാനത്തേക്കാൾ കൂടുതലാണ്. പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ സാക്ഷരത 92.29 ശതമാനവും സ്ത്രീകളുടേത് 80.98 ശതമാനവുമാണ്. വിദിഷയിലെ ആകെ ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ 15 ശതമാനം പേർ ആറുവയസിനു താഴെയുള്ളവരാണ്.
