കേരളീയനായ ഒരു ചലച്ചിത്രപ്രവർത്തകനാണ് കെ.പി.കുമാരൻ . 1936-ൽ തലശ്ശേരിയിൽ ജനിച്ചു. അടൂർ ഗോപാലകൃഷ്ണൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത സ്വയംവരത്തിന്റെ തിരക്കഥാകൃത്ത് അദ്ദേഹമാണ്. കുമാരന്റെ ആദ്യ സംവിധാന സംരംഭം അതിഥി ആയിരുന്നു. അതിഥി , തോറ്റം, രുക്മിണി, നേരം പുലരുമ്പോൾ, ആദിപാപം, കാട്ടിലെപാട്ട്, തേൻതുളളി, ആകാശഗോപുരം എന്നിവ പ്രധാന ചിത്രങ്ങൾ. നാഷണൽ ഫിലിം അവാർഡ്, സ്പെഷ്യൽ ജുറി പ്രൈസ് എന്നിവ ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.[1] [2] 2021 ലെ ജെ.സി. ഡാനിയേൽ പുരസ്കാരം കെ.പി. കുമാരനായിരുന്നു.[3][4]
