ജീവിതം[തിരുത്തുക]

1929 -ൽ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയയിലെ ബ്രിസ്ബേനിൽ ജനിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അമ്മ മാരിയോൺ 1938- ൽ പിത്താശയം പൊട്ടിയതിനെതുടർന്ന് മരണമടഞ്ഞു. ആംഗ്ലിക്കൻ ചർച്ച് ഗ്രാമർ വിദ്യാലയത്തിൽ (ഇപ്പോൾ ചർച്ച് ഓഫ് ഇംഗ്ലണ്ട് ഗ്രാമർ സ്കൂൾ എന്നും അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു) നിന്നും അദ്ദേഹം വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നേടി.[1]കോറിയർ മെയിൽ ട്രെയിനി പത്രപ്രവർത്തകനായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ പതിനെട്ടാം വയസ്സിൽ സ്കൂൾ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു. എന്നിരുന്നാലും, പത്രത്തിൽ ഒരു വർഷം തികയ്ക്കുംമുമ്പേ അദ്ദേഹം പുറത്തായി.[2]1951 -ൽ അദ്ദേഹം ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലേക്ക് കുടിയേറിപ്പാർത്തു. ബോട്ടിൽ അദ്ദേഹം നോവലിസ്റ്റ് ജിൽ നെവില്ലെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടി. നെവില്ലെയുടെ ആദ്യത്തെ പുസ്തകമായ ദ ഫാൾ ഗേൾ (1966) പോർട്ടർ ആണ് ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. രണ്ടു ആത്മഹത്യാ ശ്രമങ്ങൾക്കു ശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം ബ്രിസ്ബേനിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചു. പത്തു മാസങ്ങൾക്കു ശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിൽ തിരിച്ചെത്തി. 1955- ൽ അദ്ദേഹം "ദ ഗ്രൂപ്പ്" ന്റെ യോഗങ്ങളിൽ സംബന്ധിച്ചു. 1961 -ൽ തന്റെ ആദ്യ ശേഖരം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കാൻ അനുവദിച്ച "ദി ഗ്രൂപ്പ്" മായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടതാണ് ഇത്.[3]
