ജോവാൻ ഡെലാനോ ഐക്കൻ (ജീവിതകാലം: 4 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 1924 – 4 ജനുവരി 2004) ഒരു ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് എഴുത്തുകാരിയായിരുന്നു. അമാനുഷിക ഫിക്ഷൻ കഥകളിലും കുട്ടികൾക്കുള്ള ബദൽ ചരിത്രനനോവലുകളിലുമാണ് അവർ ശ്രദ്ധ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ചിരുന്നത്. 199ൽ അവർക്ക് ബാലസാഹിത്യകൃതികളിലെ സംഭാവനകൾക്ക് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് രാജ്ഞി നിന്ന് MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) അവാർഡ് നൽകി ആദരിച്ചിരുന്നു.[1] 1968 ൽ ജോനാതൻ കെയ്പ് പബ്ലീഷിംഗ് കമ്പനിയുടെ പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ട “The Whispering Mountain” എന്ന നോവൽ ഗാർഡിയൻ ചിൽഡ്രൺസ് ഫിക്ഷൻ അവാർഡിന് അർഹമായിരുന്നു. ബിട്ടനിലെ കുട്ടികളുടെ എഴുത്തുകാരുടെ ഒരു പാനൽ വിധികർത്താക്കളായുള്ളതും ഒരു ആജീവനാന്തകാല പുസ്തക അവാർഡുമാണിത്. “Night Fall” എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിന് 1972 ൽ “Edgar Allan Poe Award” ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
