വെസ്റ്റ് ദ്വീപ് ആന്തമാൻ ദ്വീപിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു ദ്വീപാണിത്. വടക്കൻമധ്യേ ആൻഡമാന്റെ ഭരണത്തിൻ കീഴിലുള്ള ജില്ലയായ ഈ പ്രദേശം ഇന്ത്യയുടെ കേന്ദ്രഭരണപ്രദേശമായ ആൻഡമാൻ നിക്കോബാർ ദ്വീപുകളുടെ ഒരു ഭാഗമാണ്. പോർട്ട് ബ്ലെയറിൽ നിന്ന് വടക്ക്മാറി 212 കിലോമീറ്റർ (132 മൈൽ) ദൂരത്തിലാണ് ദ്വീപ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്.[6]

രാഷ്ടീയപരമായി വെസ്റ്റ് ദ്വീപ് അയൽ ദ്വീപായ ക്ലോ പാസ്സേജ് ഗ്രൂപ്പ് ദ്വീപിനോടൊപ്പം ഡിജിൽപുർ താലൂക്കിന്റെയും ടെഹ്സിലിന്റെയും ഭാഗമാണ്. [7]
ഭൂമിശാസ്ത്രം[തിരുത്തുക]
വടക്ക് ആന്തമാൻ ദ്വീപിന്റെയും കോകോദ്വീപിന്റെയും ഇടയിൽ ക്ലോ പാസ്സേജ് ഗ്രൂപ്പ് ദ്വീപിന്റെ തുടർച്ചയായി വെസ്റ്റ് ദ്വീപ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. വളരെ ചെറിയ ഈ ദ്വീപ് 2.85 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റർ വിസ്തീർണ്ണത്തിൽ വ്യാപിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്നു.
