ഏഷ്യയിലും അറേബ്യയിലും ആഫ്രിക്കയിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്ന നീർമുത്തൻ കുടുംബത്തിൽ ഉള്ള ഒരിനം കല്ലൻ തുമ്പിയാണ് ചോപ്പൻ പാറമുത്തി (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Trithemis kirbyi)[1].
കടുത്ത ചുവപ്പുനിറം കലർന്ന ഉടലും ചിറകിൻറെ ചുവടുഭാഗത്ത്‌ ആംബർ നിറവുമുള്ള ചെറിയ ഒരു തുംബിയാണിത്. പെൺതുമ്പികളെ അപേഷിച്ച് ആൺതുമ്പികൾക്ക് ചുവപ്പുനിറം കൂടുതലാണ്. കാട്ടരുവികൾക്കു സമീപമുള്ള പാറകളിലും നിലത്തും ഇവ സാധാരണയായി ഇരിക്കാറുണ്ട്[2][3][4][5][6].
