അയോഡിൻ ടിഞ്ചർ ഒരു അണുനാശിനിയാണ്. സാധാരണയായി 2 മുതൽ 7% വരെ അയഡിൻ, പൊട്ടാസ്യം അയഡൈഡ് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ സോഡിയം അയോഡൈഡ് എന്നിവയ്‌ക്കൊപ്പം എത്തനോളിന്റെയും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെയും മിശ്രിതമാണ്. സാധാരണയായി അയോഡിൻ വെള്ളത്തിൽ ലയിക്കുന്നില്ല. എന്നാൽ പൊട്ടാസ്യം അയഡൈഡ് ചേർക്കുമ്പോൾ അയോഡിൻ അലിഞ്ഞു ചേരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ എത്തനോൾ അയോഡിൻ അലിഞ്ഞുചേരാൻ സഹായിക്കുന്നു. അയോഡിൻ ടിഞ്ചറിൽ ഏകദേശം തുല്യ അളവിൽ അയോഡൈഡും അയഡിനും ഉണ്ട്. ഇത് ചർമ്മ അണുനാശിനിയായും ജല അണുനാശിനിയായും ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. ചെറിയ മുറിവുകൾ, പൊള്ളൽ, പോറലുകൾ എന്നിവ അണുവിമുക്തമാക്കാൻ ഇത് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.[1][2]
