ലെ ഹാവ്രെയുടെ പ്രാന്തപ്രദേശമായ സെയിന്റ്-അഡ്രസ് മോനെയുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ വീടായിരുന്നു. നിരാലംബനായ മോനെ തന്റെ പിതാവിനോടും അമ്മായി സോഫി ലെകാഡ്രെയോടും ഒപ്പം തന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരിയായ കാമിൽ ഡോൺസിയൂസിനെയും അവരുടെ നവജാത മകൻ ജീനിനെയും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് 1867-ലെ വേനൽക്കാലം ചെലവഴിച്ചു. പാരീസിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്ത മോനെ കുറച്ച് ദിവസങ്ങൾക്ക് ശേഷം അതിർത്തിയിലേയ്ക്ക് മടങ്ങി.[1]
