ദില്ലിയിലെ ഓൾ ഇന്ത്യ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് മെഡിക്കൽ സയൻസസിലെ ഇന്ത്യൻ എൻ‌ഡോക്രൈനോളജിസ്റ്റും എൻ‌ഡോക്രൈനോളജി, മെറ്റബോളിസം വിഭാഗത്തിലെ പ്രൊഫസറുമാണ് രവീന്ദർ ഗോസ്വാമി (ജനനം: സെപ്റ്റംബർ 3, 1963). വിറ്റാമിൻ ഡിയുടെ കുറവ് സംബന്ധിച്ച ഗവേഷണത്തിന് പേരുകേട്ട ഗോസ്വാമി നാഷണൽ അക്കാദമി ഓഫ് സയൻസസ്, ഇന്ത്യ, ഇന്ത്യൻ അക്കാദമി ഓഫ് സയൻസസ് എന്നിവയുടെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ഫെലോ ആണ്. ശാസ്ത്ര ഗവേഷണത്തിനായുള്ള ഇന്ത്യാ ഗവൺമെന്റിന്റെ പരമോന്നത ഏജൻസിയായ കൗൺസിൽ ഓഫ് സയന്റിഫിക് ആൻഡ് ഇൻഡസ്ട്രിയൽ റിസർച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ശാസ്ത്ര സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയ്ക്കുള്ള ശാന്തി സ്വരൂപ് ഭട്നഗർ സമ്മാനം നൽകി, 2008 ൽ മെഡിക്കൽ സയൻസിന് നൽകിയ സംഭാവനകൾക്ക് ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന ഇന്ത്യൻ സയൻസ് അവാർഡുകളിലൊന്നാണിത്. എയിംസ് ദില്ലി

മൗലാന ആസാദ് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ ബിരുദം നേടിയ രവീന്ദർ ഗോസ്വാമി എംഡി പൂർത്തിയാക്കാൻ സ്ഥാപനത്തിൽ തുടരുകയും ദില്ലിയിലെ ഓൾ ഇന്ത്യ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് മെഡിക്കൽ സയൻസസിൽ നിന്ന് എൻഡോക്രൈനോളജിയിൽ ഡിഎം നേടുകയും ചെയ്തു. [2] 1992 ൽ എയിംസിൽ ചേരുകയും നാരായണ പണിക്കർ കൊച്ചുപിള്ളയുടെ കീഴിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്യുകയും പോസ്റ്റ്-ഡോക്ടറൽ ജോലികൾ ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്തു. അതിനിടയിൽ, അദ്ദേഹം രണ്ടുതവണ അവധിയെടുത്ത് ആദ്യം പട്രീഷ്യ ക്രോക്കിന്റെ കീഴിലുള്ള ന്യൂകാസിൽ സർവകലാശാലയിലും പിന്നീട് എഡ്വേഡ് എം. ബ്രൗണിന്റെ ലബോറട്ടറിയിലെ ഹാർവാർഡ് മെഡിക്കൽ സ്കൂളിലും. എയിംസിൽ, 2011–13 കാലയളവിൽ ഗവേഷണത്തിന്റെ സബ് ഡീനായി സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം എൻഡോക്രൈനോളജി, മെറ്റബോളിസം വിഭാഗത്തിൽ പ്രൊഫസറാണ്. ലെഗസി[തിരുത്തുക]

ഗോസ്വാമിയുടെ പഠനങ്ങൾ ക്ലിനിക്കൽ എൻ‌ഡോക്രൈനോളജിയിൽ ശ്രദ്ധ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഹൈപ്പോകാൽ‌സെമിയ, ഇഡിയൊപാത്തിക് ഹൈപ്പോപാരൈറോയിഡിസം തുടങ്ങിയ രോഗങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് അദ്ദേഹം ഗവേഷണം നടത്തി. [6] വിറ്റാമിൻ ഡിയുടെ അപര്യാപ്തതയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പഠനങ്ങൾ എത്യോപാഥോജെനിസിസ്, ജനസംഖ്യയിലുടനീളമുള്ള തകരാറിന്റെ ഗൗരവം എന്നിവ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യൻ ജനങ്ങളിൽ വിറ്റാമിൻ ഡിയുടെ കുറവ് ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത് അവരുടെ കറുത്ത തൊലിയാണ് (ഇത് അൾട്രാ വയലറ്റ് രശ്മികൾ തടയുന്നതിലൂടെ വിറ്റാമിൻ ഡി ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത് തടയുന്നു) അതുപോലെ തന്നെ കാൽസിട്രിയോൾ റിസപ്റ്റർ ജീനിന്റെ അപര്യാപ്തമായ ബയോ- പൊരുത്തപ്പെടുത്തൽ. [7] പോഷകാഹാരക്കുറവ് സപ്ലിമെന്റുകളിലൂടെ പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെ വാദിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം പരിഹാരമാർഗ്ഗമായി സൂര്യപ്രകാശം എത്തുന്നതിനെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു. [8] [9] പാരാതൈറോയിഡ് സ്പോണ്ടിലോ ആർത്രോപതി, ബേസൽ ഗാംഗ്ലിയ കാൽ‌സിഫിക്കേഷൻ, ഹൈപ്പർഫോസ്ഫേറ്റീമിയയുടെ വികസനം തുടങ്ങിയ ക്ലിനിക്കൽ ചിഹ്നങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് രോഗത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ധാരണ വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് ഇഡിയൊപാത്തിക് ഹൈപ്പോപാരൈറോയിഡിസത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ സഹായിച്ചു. സയന്റിഫിക് ആൻഡ് ഇൻഡസ്ട്രിയൽ റിസർച്ച് കൗൺസിൽ ഗോസ്വാമിക്ക് 2008 ൽ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ പരമോന്നത ശാസ്ത്ര പുരസ്കാരമായ ശാന്തി സ്വരൂപ് ഭട്നാഗർ പുരസ്കാരം നൽകി. [19] ഇന്ത്യൻ അക്കാദമി ഓഫ് സയൻസസ് അതേ വർഷം തന്നെ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഒരു ഫെലോ ആയി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു [20] കൂടാതെ 2010 ൽ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ നാഷണൽ അക്കാദമി ഓഫ് സയൻസസിന്റെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ഫെലോ ആയി. [21]
