വനപ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരിനം ചിത്രശലഭമാണ് പുള്ളിച്ചാത്തൻ (Notocrypta curvifascia).[1][2] മഴക്കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞയുടെനെയുള്ള മാസങ്ങളിൽ ഇവ ധാരാളമായി പറന്നുകളിക്കുന്നത് കാണാം. കറുത്ത ചിറകിൽ വലിയ വീതി കൂടിയ വെള്ളവരയും മുകൾ ഭാഗത്തോടു ചേർന്ന് മൂന്ന് ചെറിയ പൊട്ടുകളും കാണാം. അരിപ്പൂച്ചെടികളോട് കൂടുതൽ ഇഷ്ടംപ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ചണ്ണക്കൂവ (Costus speciosa), സുഗന്ധി (Hedychium coronarium), ചെങ്ങഴനീർക്കിഴങ്ങ്(Kaempferia rotunda), കാട്ടിഞ്ചി (Zingiber montana), കാട്ടുമഞ്ഞൾ(Curcuma decipiens), ചില വാഴവർഗ്ഗങ്ങൾ (Musa acuminata, Musa balbisiana) തുടങ്ങിയ സസ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഈ ചിത്രശലഭം മുട്ടയിടുന്നതായും ശലഭപ്പുഴക്കൾ ഇതിന്റെ ഇലകൾ ആഹാരമാക്കുന്നതായും നിരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.
