ഒരു സ്വീഡിഷ് ചിത്രകാരിയും എഴുത്തുകാരിയും തീവ്രവാദ അരാജക / പരിസ്ഥിതി ഫെമിനിസ്റ്റുമായിരുന്നു മോണിക്ക സ്ജൂ , (ജീവിതകാലം, ഡിസംബർ 31, 1938 - ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 8, 2005). അവർ ഗോഡെസ് പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യകാല വക്താവായിരുന്നു. [1]

അവരുടെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായ, വിവാദമായ പെയിന്റിംഗ് ഗോഡ് ഗിവിംഗ് ബർത്ത് (1968) ആണ്. അതിൽ വെള്ളക്കാരിയല്ലാത്ത സ്ത്രീ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നതായി ചിത്രീകരിക്കുന്നു. ഇത് ഒന്നിലധികം തവണ സെൻസർ ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടു[2][3]. ഒരു ആർട്ട് ഷോയിൽ, സ്ജൂയെ മതനിന്ദ ആരോപിച്ച് പോലീസിൽ റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്തു.[4]

1976 ൽ ഐ‌സി‌എയിലും എൻ‌എഫ്‌ടിയിലും കാണിച്ച ഒരു ഫിലിം ഡോക്യുമെന്ററിയുടെ വിഷയം സ്ജൂ ആയിരുന്നു.[6]

ബാർബറ മോറിന്റെ പുനരാലേഖനവും വിപുലീകരണവും കൊണ്ട് [7] ദി ഗ്രേറ്റ് കോസ്മിക് മദർ (1987) എന്ന പുസ്തകമായി മാറുമെന്ന് സ്ജോ യഥാർത്ഥ ലഘുലേഖ എഴുതി[8] . ഇത് സ്ത്രീകളുടെ പുരാതന ചരിത്രവും മതത്തിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവവും ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്നു. കൂടാതെ മനുഷ്യരാശിയുടെ ആദ്യകാല മതപരവും സാംസ്കാരികവുമായ വിശ്വാസ സമ്പ്രദായങ്ങൾ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചതും ആദ്യം നടപ്പിലാക്കിയതും സ്ത്രീകൾ ആണെന്ന് നിർദ്ദേശിക്കുന്ന ആദ്യത്തെ പുസ്തകങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് ഇത്. ഇത് നിലവിൽ അച്ചടിയിലാണ്. ഇപ്പോഴും നിരവധി സ്ത്രീ പഠനങ്ങളുടെയും പുരാണങ്ങളുടെയും മതപഠനത്തിന്റെയും സിലബസിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്.[9] അവരുടെ ഗവേഷണവും എഴുത്തും ദേവതയുടെ മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ചരിത്രം അനാവരണം ചെയ്യാൻ സഹായിച്ചു. Sjöö അവരുടെ ഗവേഷണത്തിൽ ഇന്റർ ഡിസിപ്ലിനറിറ്റി വിജയകരമായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചത് ഗോഡെസ് പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിനുള്ളിൽ അതിന്റെ പ്രശംസയ്ക്ക് കാരണമായി.[10]

അവളുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കൾ സ്വീഡിഷ് ചിത്രകാരൻമാരായ ഗുസ്താഫ് അർവിഡ് സ്ജോ (1902-1949), അന്ന ഹാരിയറ്റ് റോസാണ്ടർ-സ്ജോ (1912-1965) എന്നിവരായിരുന്നു, അവർ സ്ജോയ്ക്ക് മൂന്ന് വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ വിവാഹമോചനം നേടി.[11]അവൾ 16 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ സ്കൂൾ വിട്ട് വീട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് ഓടിപ്പോയി.[11][12]
