2015 ലെ മാൻ ബുക്കർ സമ്മാനം നേടിയ ജമൈക്കൻ എഴുത്തുകാരനാണ് മെർലൻ ജയിംസ്(ജനനം 1970). മൂന്നു നോവലുകൾ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. മാൻ ബുക്കർ പ്രൈസ് നേടുന്ന ആദ്യ ജമൈക്കൻ എഴുത്തുകാരനാണ്.

വിൽക്ക്സ് സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് സർഗാത്മക രചനയിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.[1]2007 മുതൽ അദ്ധ്യാപകനാണ്.
