മാനുവൽ ബന്ദേര

മോഡേണിസ്മോ എന്ന ബ്രസീലിയൻ സാഹിത്യപ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ നായകരിലൊരാളായ കവിയാണ് മാനുവെൽ ബന്ദേര (Manuel Bandeira) ( 19 ഏപ്രിൽ 1886 — 13 ഒക്ടോ: 1968)- . വിവർത്തകനും വിമർശകനും സാഹിത്യചരിത്രകാരനുമായിരുന്ന ബന്ദേര, ബ്രസീലിയൻ സാഹിത്യത്തെ അക്കാഡമിക് പാണ്ഡിത്യത്തിൽ നിന്നും യൂറോപ്യൻ സ്വാധീനത്തിൽ നിന്നും മോചിപ്പിക്കുക എന്ന സാഹിത്യദൗത്യത്തിലാണ് മുഴുകിയത്.പതിനേഴാമത്തെ വയസ്സിൽ ക്ഷയരോഗം ബാധിച്ചതിനെ തുടർന്ന് പഠനവും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടി വന്ന പിന്നീടുള്ള കുറേ വർഷങ്ങൾ ചികിത്സയിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞു. ആ കാലയളവിൽ ആണ് ബന്ദേര സാഹിത്യ രചനയിലും പഠനത്തിലും മുഴുകി. ബ്രസീലിയൻ ജീവിതത്തിലെ ദൈനംദിനാനുഭവങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതിപാദനമാണ്‌ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കവിതകൾ.
