1439-ൽ നെതർലാന്റ് കലാകാരനായ യാൻ വാൻ ഐൿ വരച്ച ഒരു എണ്ണച്ചായാചിത്രം ആണ് മഡോണ അറ്റ് ദ ഫൗണ്ടൻ [1]. യാൻ വാൻ ഐൿ അവസാനം ഒപ്പിട്ടതും വരച്ചതുമായ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അവസാനകാല സൃഷ്ടിയായ ഒരു ചിത്രമായിരുന്നു ഇത്. "ALS IXH CAN", "JOHES DE EYCK ME FECIT + [COM]PLEVIT ANNO 1439 എന്ന ലിഖിതങ്ങൾ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന അതിന്റെ യഥാർത്ഥ ഫ്രെയിം നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു.
19 x 12 സെന്റീമീറ്റർ. പോസ്റ്റ്കാർഡ് എന്നതിനേക്കാൾ അല്പം വലുതായ ഈ ചിത്രം ജീവന്റെ നീരുറവയെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്ന ജലധാരയോടുകൂടിയ കെട്ടിയടച്ച ഒരു ഗാർഡനിലാണ് സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.[2] രണ്ട് ദൂതൻമാർ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുന്ന നീല വേഷധാരിയായ മഡോണ ബഹുമാനിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന സമ്പന്നമായ തുണിത്തരങ്ങളാൽ അഴകുള്ളവളായി ക്രിസ്തുവായ ശിശുവിനോടൊപ്പം ശിശുവിൻറെ ഇടതു കൈയിൽ ജപമാല പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രതിരൂപങ്ങൾക്കു പിന്നിൽ റോസാച്ചെടിയുടെ കുറ്റിക്കാടും ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. [2]പതിനഞ്ചാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യകാലം മുതൽ ജപമാല വടക്കേ യൂറോപ്പിൽ വ്യാപകമായി പ്രചരിച്ചിരുന്നു.[2]
