കൈഡ് ദ്വീപ് ആന്തമാൻ ദ്വീപിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു ദ്വീപാണിത്. തെക്കൻ ആൻഡമാന്റെ ഭരണത്തിൻകീഴിലുള്ള ജില്ലയായ ഈ പ്രദേശം ഇന്ത്യയുടെ കേന്ദ്രഭരണപ്രദേശമായ ആൻഡമാൻ നിക്കോബാർ ദ്വീപുകളുടെ ഒരു ഭാഗമാണിത്.[6] പോർട്ട് ബ്ലെയറിൽ നിന്ന് വടക്ക്മാറി 30 കിലോമീറ്റർ (19 മൈൽ) ദൂരത്തിലാണ് ദ്വീപ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്.

ഭൂമിശാസ്ത്രം[തിരുത്തുക]

നാപിയർ ബേ ദ്വീപിന്റെ തുടർച്ചയായി ഷോൾ ബേയുടെ വടക്കുഭാഗത്തായി ഈ ദ്വീപ് കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്ന് 237 മീറ്റർ ഉയരത്തിൽ ഇത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. 5.42 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റർ വിസ്തീർണ്ണവും, 3.29 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റർ (2.044 മൈൽ) നീളവും ഇതിനുണ്ട്.[7]

രാഷ്ടീയപരമായി കൈഡ് ദ്വീപ് അയൽ ദ്വീപായ നാപിയർ ബേ ദ്വീപിനോടൊപ്പം ഫെറാഗുൻച് താലൂക്കിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്. [8]

ഈ ദ്വീപിൽ മുൻകാലത്ത് തന്നെ അകാ-ബീ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന കുടിയേറ്റക്കാരുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.[9]
