പ്രശസ്ത ഇന്ത്യൻ ചലച്ചിത്രനടിയാണ് കത്രീന കൈഫ് (ജനനം: ജൂലൈ 16, 1983[1]) ഹിന്ദി സിനിമകളിലാണ് അവർ കൂടുതലായും അഭിനയിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത് എങ്കിലും, മലയാളം, തെലുഗു എന്നീ ഭാഷകളിലും അഭിനയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

[തിരുത്തുക]1983 ജൂലൈ 16 ന് കത്രീന കൈഫ് ഹോങ്കോങിൽ മാതാവിന്റെ കുടുംബനാമമായ ടർക്വോട്ടെ എന്ന പേരിൽ ജനിച്ചു.[a][6][7][8] പിതാവ് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ കാശ്മീർ സ്വദേശിയും ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് വ്യവസായിയുമായിരുന്ന മുഹമ്മദ് കൈഫും മാതാവ് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് അഭിഭാഷകയും സന്നദ്ധപ്രവർത്തകയുമായിരുന്ന സുസൈനുമായിരുന്നു (സുസന്ന എന്നും ഉച്ഛരിക്കുന്നു).[9][10][11] കത്രീനയുടെ ബാല്യം സാധാരണമായിരുന്നില്ല. കത്രീനയുടെ ചെറുപ്പത്തിൽ മാതാപിതാക്കൾ വേർപിരിഞ്ഞതിനാൽ അവരും സഹോദരങ്ങളും മാതാവിനോടൊത്താണു വളർന്നത്. പിതാവ് അമേരിക്കയിലേക്ക് താമസം മാറിയതിനുശേഷം കത്രീന പിതാവുമായി കണ്ടുമുട്ടിയിട്ടില്ല.
കത്രീനയ്ക്ക് 7 സഹോദരീ സഹോദന്മാരാണുള്ളത്. മൂത്ത സഹോദരിമാരായ സ്റ്റെഫാനി, ക്രിസ്റ്റീൻ, നടാഷ എന്നിവരും ഇളയ സഹോദരിമാരായ മെലിസ, സോണിയ ഇസബെൽ എന്നിവരും മൈക്കേൾ എന്നു പേരായ ഒരു മൂത്ത സഹോദരനുമാണ് അവർക്കുള്ളത്.[12] കത്രീന കൈഫിൻറെ പതിനാലാം വയസ്സുവരെ ഈ കുടുംബം അമേരിക്കയിലെ ഹവായിലാണ് താമസിച്ചിരുന്നത്. പതിനാലാംവയസ്സു മുതലാണ് കത്രീന മോഡലിംഗ് രംഗത്തേക്ക് കടക്കുന്നത്. ഒരു ജ്വല്ലറിയുടെ പരസ്യത്തിന് വേണ്ടിയാണ് കത്രീന ആദ്യമായി മോഡലാവുന്നത്. തുടർന്നും ലണ്ടനിൽ ധാരാളം പരസ്യങ്ങളിൽ കത്രീന അഭിനയിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.
സിനിമാജീവിതം
[തിരുത്തുക]2003-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ഭൂം എന്ന ഹിന്ദി ചിത്രത്തിലാണ് കത്രീന ആദ്യമായി അഭിനയിക്കുന്നത്. കത്രീന നായികയും മമ്മൂട്ടി നായകനായും അഭിനയിച്ച് മലയാളത്തിൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ചലച്ചിത്രമാണ് ബൽറാം വേഴ്സസ് താരാദാസ്. ഈ ചിത്രം സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തത് പ്രശസ്ത സംവിധായകനായ ഐ വി ശശിയാണ്.
