1857-ലെ ഒന്നാം ഇന്ത്യൻ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ സമരത്തിൽ പ്രധാന പങ്കുവഹിച്ച ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ വനിതാ പട്ടാളക്കാരിയാണ്' 'ഝൽകാരിബായി (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്:Jhalkaribai Fijian Hindustani: झलकारीबाई [dʒʱəlkaːriːˈbaːi]). ഝാൻസി റാണിയുടെ വനിതാ സൈന്യത്തിലെ ഒരു പട്ടാളക്കാരിയായിരുന്നു ഝൽകാരിബായി. 830 നവംബർ 22ന് ഒരു നിർധന കോറി കുടുംബത്തിലാണ് ഇവർ ജനിച്ചത്. ഝാൻസി റാണിയുടെ സൈന്യത്തിലെ ഒരു സാധാരണപട്ടാളക്കാരിയായി തന്റെ പട്ടാള ജീവിതം ആരംഭിക്കുകയും പിന്നീട് എന്നാൽ രാജ്ഞിക്ക് സുപ്രധാന തീരുമാനങ്ങൾ എടുക്കുവാൻ നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്ന ഒരു സ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് ഉയർന്നുവരുകുയും ചെയ്തു.[3] ജാൻസിഫോർട്ടിനു ചുറ്റും കലാപസമയത്ത് അരങ്ങേറിയ സമയത്ത് കലാപകാരികൾക്കുമുന്നിൽ ഝാൻസി റാണിയായി സ്വയം വേഷപ്രഛന്നമായി ഏറ്റുമുട്ടുകയും യഥാർത്ഥ റാണിയെ കോട്ടയിൽ നിന്നും സുരക്ഷിതമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
