ആന്റിവൈറൽ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ആന്റിനിയോപ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് മരുന്നാണ് ഇന്റർഫെറോൺ ആൽഫ -2 ബി. ഇന്റർഫെറോൺ ആൽഫ -2 എന്ന പ്രോട്ടീന്റെ പുനർസംയോജന രൂപമാണിത്. സൂറിച്ച് സർവകലാശാലയിലെ ചാൾസ് വൈസ്മാന്റെ ലബോറട്ടറിയിൽ ആദ്യം സീക്വൻസ് ചെയ്യുകയും എഷെറിക്കീയ കോളി ബാക്റ്റീരിയയുമായി ^[1]പുന:സംയോജിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.^[2]^[3] ഇത് അമേരിക്കൻ മൾട്ടിനാഷണൽ ബയോടെക്നോളജി കമ്പനി ബയോജനിൽ വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുത്തു. ഇൻട്രോൺ-എ എന്ന വ്യാപാര നാമത്തിൽ ഷെറിംഗ്-പ്ലോവ് ഇതിനെ വിപണനം ചെയ്തു. വൈറൽ അണുബാധകൾക്കും ക്യാൻസറിനും ഇത് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.
