പശ്ചിമഘട്ടതദ്ദേശവാസിയായ ഒരു തവളയാണ് ആനമല പാറത്തവള അഥവാ Anamallais Leaping Frog (Anamallais Indian frog). (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Indirana brachytarsus). ഐ യു സി എൻ പട്ടികപ്രകാരമുള്ള പരിപാലന സ്ഥിതി വംശനാശ ഭീഷണി നേരിടുന്ന ജീവികൾ എന്നാണ്.[2] പ്രാദേശികമായി വളരെ സാധാരണയായി കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ തവളകൾ നിത്യ ഹരിത വനങ്ങളിലും അർദ്ധ നിത്യഹരിത വനങ്ങളിലും, ചതുപ്പ് പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും ഉള്ള മലകളിലെ അരുവികളോട് ചേർന്ന് കിടക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ആണ് കാണുക. വനാതൃത്തികളിലെ കൃഷിയിടങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്തുവരെ ഇവയെ കാണാം. നനവുള്ള പാറപ്പുറത്താന് ഇവ മുട്ടയിടുന്നത്, കൂടാതെ വാൽ മാക്രികളേയും അരുവികൾക്ക് സമീപത്തുള്ള നനഞ്ഞ പാറക്കെട്ടുകളിൽ കാണാം.[1]
