ഇഡ കാർലിട്ടൻ തല്ലോൺ ഹിൽ (ആഗസ്റ്റ്11, 1875 – ഡിസംബർ14, 1954) അമേരിക്കൻ പുരാവസ്തുശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞയും, ചരിത്രകാരിയും, ക്ലാസിക്കൽ പണ്ഡിതയുമായിരുന്നു. പുരാവസ്തുശാസ്ത്രവും, ഭൂഗർഭശാസ്ത്രവും, ചരിത്രവും തമ്മിലുള്ള ബന്ധത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് പഠിക്കാൻ ഹില്ലിന് വലിയ താല്പര്യം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരുടെ 50 വർഷത്തെ ഔദ്യോഗികജീവിതത്തിലും ഗവേഷണത്തിലും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങളിലും ഇത് പ്രതിഫലിച്ചിരുന്നു.

ജോണും ഗ്രേസ് ഗ്രീൻ തല്ലനുമായിരുന്നു മാതാപിതാക്കൾ. ന്യൂയോർക്കിലെ ബ്രൂക്ക്ലിനിൽ പാക്കർ കൊളിഗേറ്റ് ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഫോർ ഗേൾസിൽ ചേർന്ന് പഠിച്ചു. 1897-ൽ വസ്സർ കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദമെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.[2]

1899 മുതൽ 1901 വരെ ഹിൽ ഏഥൻസിലെ അമേരിക്കൻ സ്ക്കൂൾ ഓഫ് ക്ലാസിക്കൽ സ്റ്റഡീസിൽ ചേർന്നു.[3]വസ്സർ കോളേജിൽ ഒന്നിച്ചുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ലിഡ ഷ കിങിനോടൊപ്പം അമേരിക്കൻ സ്ക്കൂൾ ഓഫ് ക്ലാസിക്കൽ സ്റ്റഡീസിൽ ചേർന്നു. ഇഡ ഹിൽ, ലിഡ ഷ കിങ് എന്നിവർ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളാകുകയും ക്ളാസ്സു തുടങ്ങുന്നതിനുമുമ്പ് മൂന്നുമാസക്കാലം രണ്ടുപേരും കൂടി യൂറോപ്പിൽ ചുറ്റിസഞ്ചരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. പിന്നീട് പുരാവസ്തു പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങൾ രണ്ടുപേരും ഒന്നിച്ചു ചേർന്നാണ് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരുന്നത്.
