പുത്രഞ്ജീവേസീ കുടുംബത്തിലെ ചെറിയ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ വലിയ മുൾപടർപ്പിന്റെ ഒരു ഇനമായ ഡ്രൈപേറ്റ്സ് അർഗുട്ട സാധാരണയായി വാട്ടർ അയൺപ്ലം എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.[2]ഇത് ഉഷ്ണമേഖലാ കിഴക്കൻ ആഫ്രിക്കൻ സ്വദേശിയാണ്. 1920-ൽ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് സസ്യശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനായ ജോൺ ഹച്ചിൻസൺ ഇത് ആദ്യമായി വിവരിച്ചത് സൈക്ലോസ്റ്റെമൻ ആർഗുട്ടസ് എന്നാണ്. ഇത് പിന്നീട് ഡ്രൈപേറ്റ്സ് ജനുസ്സിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി.[3]
