ഫ്രഞ്ച് തത്ത്വചിന്തകരിലൊരാളാണ് ചാൾസ് ഫൂറിയർ എന്ന ഫ്രാൻസിസ് മാരി ചാൾസ് ഫൂറിയർ.(1772 ഏപ്രിൽ 7 - 1837 ഒക്ടോബർ 10) സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് ചിന്തകനും ഉട്ടോപ്യൻ സോഷ്യലിസത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാപകരിൽ ഒരാളും ആയിരുന്നു. ഫൊറിയറുടെ സാമൂഹ്യവും ധാർമ്മികവുമായ വീക്ഷണങ്ങളിൽ ചിലത് തന്റെ ജീവിതകാലത്ത് സമൂലപരിണാമമായിരുന്നു വരുത്തിയിരുന്നത്. ആധുനിക സമൂഹത്തിൽ മുഖ്യധാരാ ചിന്തകനായിരുന്നു. അതിന്റെ ഫലമായി, 1837-ൽ "ഫെമിനിസം" എന്ന വാക്കിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവം ഫൊറിയറിന് ലഭിച്ചു.

ജീവിതരേഖ

1772 ഏപ്രിൽ 7 ന് ഫ്രാൻസിലെ ബെസാൻകോണിലാണ് ഫ്യൂറിയർ ജനിച്ചത്. ഒരു ചെറുകിട വ്യവസായിയുടെ മകനായി ഫ്യൂറിയറിന് പിതാവിന്റെ തൊഴിലിനേക്കാൾ വാസ്തുവിദ്യയിലായിരുന്നു താൽപ്പര്യം. എഞ്ചിനീയറാകാൻ അദ്ദേഹം ആഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെങ്കിലും പ്രാദേശിക സൈനിക എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് സ്കൂൾ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ മക്കൾക്കു മാത്രമേ അവിടെ പ്രവേശനം നൽകിയിരുന്നുള്ളു. മനുഷ്യരാശിയെ സഹായിക്കാനുള്ള തന്റെ ശ്രമങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് വളരെയധികം സമയം എടുക്കുമെന്നതിനാൽ എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് പഠനം പിന്തുടരാതിരുന്നതിൽ താൻ നന്ദിയുള്ളവനാണെന്ന് ഫ്യൂറിയർ പിന്നീട് പറഞ്ഞു.
