AD 900 മുതൽ 1150 വരെയുള്ള കാലയളവിലാണ് ഇവിടെ പ്വേബ്ലോകൾ വസിച്ചിരുന്നത്. മണൽക്കല്ലും മരത്തടികളും ഉപയോഗിച്ച് അവർ പടുതുയർത്തിയ നിർമിതികൾ അക്കാലത്ത് അമേരിക്കയിലെ തന്നെ വലിയ മനുഷ്യനിർമിതികളായിരുന്നു

സാൻ ഹ്വാൻ സമതലത്തിലെ കൊളറാഡോ പീഠഭൂമിക്കു മുകളിലാണ് ഈ സാംസ്കാരിക ഭൂമിക സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇതിന്റെ കിഴക്ക് സാൻ പെഡോ മലകളും, വടക്ക് സാൻ ഹ്വാൻ മലകളും, പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ചുസ്ക മലകളും അതിരിടുന്നു.
