ഇന്ത്യയുടെയും നേപ്പാളിന്റെയും പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ഹിമാലയ ഭാഷയാണ് ബയാങ്‌സി'(ബയാൻസി, ബയാസി, ബയാങ്‌ഖോ എൽവോ, ബയാൻഷി, ഭോട്ടിയ, ബയാങ്‌ഖോപ എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു)[3]) . സംസാരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ എണ്ണം വ്യത്യസ്തമാണ്. എന്നാൽ ചില സ്രോതസ്സുകൾ പറയുന്നത് ഈ ഭാഷ ഏകദേശം 1,000-1,500 ആളുകൾ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എന്നാണ്.,[3] മറ്റുള്ളവർ കണക്കാക്കുന്നത് 3,300 എന്നാണ്.[4] ബയാങ്‌സി ഉയർന്ന ഭാഷാസാന്ദ്രതയുള്ള ഒരു പ്രദേശത്തുനിന്നുള്ളതാണ്. അതായത് കുറച്ച് ആളുകൾക്കിടയിൽ നിരവധി ഭാഷകളുണ്ട്.[5] ഈ പ്രദേശത്തെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രബലമായ ഭാഷയാണിത്. [6] ചെറിയ മലയോര ജില്ലയ്ക്ക് പുറത്ത് ഇത് പരക്കെ അറിയപ്പെട്ടിട്ടില്ലെങ്കിലും ഇത് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് കേന്ദ്ര ഗവൺമെന്റ് നടപടികൾക്കായി അവയെത്തന്നെ തരംതിരിക്കാൻ പ്രയാസമുണ്ട്.[7]
