പൊന്തക്കാടുകളിലും, മരച്ചില്ലകളിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരിനം പക്ഷിയാണ് തെക്കൻ ചിലുചിലുപ്പൻ[2] [3][4][5] (Ashambu laughingthrush)-Montecincla meridionale. ഇവ പുല്ല്.ഇലകൾ,നേർത്ത വേരുകൾ,ചെറിയ വള്ളിത്തുണ്ടുകൾ കൊണ്ട് കൂടുകൾ നിർമ്മിയ്ക്കും. അച്ചൻകോവിൽ ചുരത്തിനു തെക്കുള്ള ചിലുചിലപ്പൻ പക്ഷികളെയാണ് 'തെക്കൻ' എന്ന പേർ ചേർത്തുവിളിയ്ക്കുന്നത്.പ്രജനനകാലം പ്രധാനമായും മഴക്കാലമാണ്.
നിറം[തിരുത്തുക]
നരച്ച തവിട്ടുനിറത്തിൽ ഉപരിഭാഗങ്ങൾ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. വെള്ളപ്പുരികവും,കറുത്ത കൺപട്ടയും ചെറുതാണ്. അടി വശത്തുള്ള ചാരനിറം ഗുദം വരെ നീണ്ടുകിടക്കുന്നു.കാവി വർണ്ണം വയറിന്റെ ഇരുവശത്തും കാണാം.[6]
