ശ്രീലങ്കൻ കൺസർവേഷനിസ്റ്റാണ് അഞ്ജലി വാട്സൺ. [1][2]പുള്ളിപ്പുലി സംരക്ഷണത്തിനുള്ള സംഭാവനകളാൽ പ്രശസ്തയായ അവർ ഒരു സംരക്ഷണ-ഗവേഷണ സംഘടനയായ വൈൽ‌ഡെർനെസ് ആൻഡ് വൈൽഡ്‌ലൈഫ് കൺസർവേഷൻ ട്രസ്റ്റ് സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.[3][4]

വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം[തിരുത്തുക]

മക്മാസ്റ്റർ സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് എൻവയോൺമെന്റൽ സ്റ്റഡീസ് ബിരുദം നേടിയ വാട്സൺ എഡിൻബർഗ് സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് ഇക്കോളജിയിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദം നേടി.[5]

2000 ൽ അവർ പുള്ളിപ്പുലി പദ്ധതിക്ക് തുടക്കം കുറിച്ചു. [6][7] യുനെസ്കോയുടെ ലോക പൈതൃക സൈറ്റായ ശ്രീലങ്കയിലെ മധ്യ ഉയർന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ മനുഷ്യരും പുള്ളിപ്പുലികളും (പന്തേര പാർഡസ് കൊട്ടിയ) [8][9] തമ്മിലുള്ള സഹവർത്തിത്വം വളർത്തിയെടുക്കുന്നതാണ് വാട്സന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ.[10][11]

2004 ൽ സംരക്ഷണ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങൾ പരിപാലിക്കുന്നതിനും പുള്ളിപ്പുലികൾക്ക് കൃഷിസ്ഥലമല്ലാതെ കറങ്ങാൻ കഴിയുന്ന പുതിയ സ്ഥലങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനും മോഷൻ സെൻസർ ക്യാമറ സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യയിലൂടെ[12] വിവരങ്ങൾ ശേഖരിക്കുന്ന വൈൽ‌ഡെർനെസ് ആൻഡ് വൈൽഡ്‌ലൈഫ് കൺസർവേഷൻ ട്രസ്റ്റ് അവർ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.[13][14][15]

2018 ൽ അവർ വൈറ്റ്‌ലി അവാർഡ് നേടി. [16][17] ശ്രീലങ്കയുടെ കോസ്മോപൊളിറ്റൻ മാഗസിന്റെ 35 under 35 പട്ടികയിൽ വാട്സൺ ഇടം നേടി.[18]
