സോറിൻ ഒ.എസ് ഒരു ലിനക്സ് വിതരണമാണ്. ലിനക്സ് അധിഷ്ഠിത കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ സംവിധാനം ആദ്യമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ഉപയോക്താക്കൾക്കായി രൂപകൽപ്പന ചെയ്ത ഒരു ഓപ്പറേറ്റിംഗ് സിസ്റ്റമായാണ് ഇത് വിപണനം ചെയ്യുന്നത്. മൈക്രോസോഫ്റ്റ് വിൻഡോസ് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ മാക് ഒഎസിനെ അനുകരിക്കുന്നരീതിയിൽ സോറിൻ ഒ.എസിന്റെ ഇന്റർഫേസ് മാറ്റാൻ ഉപയോക്താക്കൾക്ക് കഴിയും.[3][2][4] ലിനക്സിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന കംപ്യൂട്ടറുകളിൽ വിൻഡോസ് സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയർ ഇൻസ്റ്റാൾ ചെയ്യാൻ പ്രാപ്തമാക്കുന്ന വൈൻ, പ്ലേഓൺലിനക്സ് എന്നീ സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയറുകൾ സോറിൻ ഒ.എസിൽ ലഭ്യമാണ്.[5] ഇത് വിൻഡോസിൽ നിന്നും ലിനക്സിലേക്കുള്ള സുഗമമായ പരിവർത്തനത്തിനും  ഗെയിമിംഗിനും ഉപയോക്താക്കളെ അനുവദിക്കുന്നു. സോറിൻ ഒ.എസിന്റെ വ്യത്യസ്ത പതിപ്പുകൾ ലഭ്യമാണ്, ഏറ്റവും മുന്തിയ "അൾട്ടിമേറ്റ്" പതിപ്പ് വിൽപ്പനക്കുള്ളതാണ്. 2009 ജൂലൈ 1-ന് ആണ് സോറിൻ ഒ.എസ് ആദ്യമായി പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയത്. ഒരു ക്ലീൻ ഇൻസ്റ്റാൾ ആവശ്യമായി വരുന്ന സോറിൻ ഒ.എസിന്റെ അവസാന പതിപ്പായിരുന്നു 12.x സീരീസ്, 12.4 പതിപ്പ് മുതൽ സിസ്റ്റം അപ്ഡേറ്റ് മാനേജർ വഴി പുതിയ പതിപ്പിലേക്ക് മാറാനുള്ള അവസരം ലഭ്യമാണ്.
