സൈറ്റോക്രോം
ഹീം സഹഘടകമായുള്ള പ്രോട്ടീനുകളാണ് സൈറ്റോക്രോമുകൾ. ഹീം തരവും ബൈൻഡിംഗ് രീതിയും അനുസരിച്ച് അവയെ വർഗ്ഗീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
സൈറ്റോക്രോമുകൾ എ, സൈറ്റോക്രോമുകൾ ബി, സൈറ്റോക്രോമുകൾ സി, സൈറ്റോക്രോമുകൾ ഡി എന്നിങ്ങനെ നാല് തരം സൈറ്റോക്രോമുകളെ ഇൻറർനാഷണൽ യൂണിയൻ ഓഫ് ബയോകെമിസ്ട്രി ആൻഡ് മോളിക്യുലർ ബയോളജി (IUBMB) തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്.[1]
