സിഡ്നി റൈറ്റേഴ്സ് ഫെസ്റ്റിവൽ സിഡ്നി യിൽ വച്ചു നടക്കുന്ന ഒരു വാർഷിക സാഹിത്യ ഉത്സവം ആണ് . ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിന്റെ കലാ സംവിധായകൻ മിഖായ മക്ഗുയർ ആണ്.[1]
ചരിത്രം[തിരുത്തുക]
1997 ജനുവരിയിൽ ഉത്സവം ആരംഭിച്ചു,[2][3] തുടക്കത്തിൽ നടന്ന മിക്ക പരിപാടികളും ന്യൂ സൗത്ത് വെയിൽസിലെ സ്റ്റേറ്റ് ലൈബ്രറിയിൽ വച്ചായിരുന്നു. ആദ്യത്തെ സ്വതന്ത്ര സിഡ്നി റൈറ്റേഴ്സ് ഫെസ്റ്റിവൽ 1998 മെയ് 12 മുതൽ 17 വരെയായിരുന്നു. അവിടെ സിഡ്നിയിലെ കേന്ദ്രത്തിലും, ചുറ്റുവട്ടങ്ങളിലും ഉള്ള169 പേർ പങ്കെടുത്തിരുന്നു. അന്നുമുതൽ ആഘോഷങ്ങൾ അതിവേഗം വികസിച്ചുവരികയാണ്. ഓരോ വർഷവും മിഡ്-ടു-ലേറ്റ് മെയ് വരെയാണ് ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിൽ ഈ പരിപാടി നടക്കുന്നത്. 400 ഓളം പേർ പങ്കെടുക്കാറുണ്ട്. സിഡ്നിയിലെ വാൾഷ് ബേ സ്വദേശികൾ 300 പരിപാടികൾ അവതരിപ്പിക്കും. സിഡ്നി തീയറ്റർ, സിഡ്നി ടൗൺ ഹാൾ, സിറ്റി റസിറ്റൽ ഹാൾ, സിഡ്നി ഓപ്പറ ഹൌസ് എന്നിവയാണ് മറ്റ് ഉത്സവ സ്ഥലങ്ങൾ. പരമറ്റ, ആഷ്ഫീൽഡ്, ആബൺ, ബ്ലാക് ടൗൺ, ബാങ്ക്സ്റ്റൗൺ, കാംപ്ബെൽടൗൺ, ഹോൺസ്ബി, പെൻറിത്ത്, ബ്ലൂ മൗണ്ടൈൻസ്, വൊളാൻഗോങ്ങ് എന്നിവയുൾപ്പെടെ പ്രാദേശിക, സബർബൻ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും ഇവ പതിവായി നടത്തുന്നു.
