വളരെ ചെറിയ ഇനത്തിൽ പെട്ട ഒരു ഇരുകാലിയായ ദിനോസൌറിഫോം ആണ് സാൾട്ടോപുസ്.[1] ഇവയുടെ ഫോസ്സിൽ കണ്ടു കിട്ടിയിട്ടുള്ളത് സ്കോട്ലണ്ടിൽ നിന്നും ആണ് . അന്ത്യ ട്രയാസ്സിക് കാലത്ത് ആണ് ഇവ ജീവിചിരുന്നത്. ഇവയ്ക്കു ഏകദേശം 80 മുതൽ 100 സെ മീ മാത്രം ആയിരുന്നു നീളം.
ഫോസ്സിൽ[തിരുത്തുക]
ഇവയുടെ ഫോസ്സിൽ കണ്ടു കിട്ടുന്നത് 1910-ൽ ആണ്, അതിൽ മുഖ്യമായും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത് ഭാഗികമായ അസ്ഥികൂടവും (തലയോട്ടി ഇല്ല) നട്ടെല്ല് , മുൻ കാലുകൾ , ഇടുപ്പ്, പിൻ കാല് എന്നിവയായിരുന്നു. ഇവ തന്നെയാകട്ടെ മണൽകല്ലിൽ പതിഞ്ഞ അവസ്ഥയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു, അസ്ഥികൾ വളരെ കുറച്ചു മാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു.[2]
