ഷാമക്കിളിയുടെ[2] [3][4][5] ആംഗലനാമം White-rumped Shama എന്നും ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Copsychus malabaricus എന്നുമാണ്. തെക്കുകിഴക്കേ ഏഷ്യയിലും ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉപഭൂഖണ്ഡത്തിലും നല്ല പച്ചപ്പുള്ള സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ഇവയെ കാണാം.
വിവരണം

23-28 സെ.മീ നീളവും 28-34 ഗ്രാം തൂക്കവും ഉണ്ടാവും. പൂവന് തിളാങ്ങുന്ന കറുപ്പാണ്. തവിട്ടു നിറത്തിലുള്ള വയർ . അരപ്പട്ടയും ചിറകിന്റെ മുകളിലും വെള്ള നിറം ചാരനിറ കലർന്ന തവിട്ടു നിറത്തിലുള്ള പിട, പൂവനേക്കാൾ ചെറുതാണ്. കറുത്ത കൊക്കും പിങ്കു കാലുകളും ഇവയ്ക്കുണ്ട്.
പ്രജനനം
[തിരുത്തുക]പ്രജനന കാലത്ത് ഇണകൾക്ക് 0.9 ഹെക്ടര് അധികാരപരിധിയുണ്ട്. പ്രജനനശേഷം പൂവനു പിടക്കും വേറെ അധികാര പരിധികളാണ് ഉള്ളത്. ഇവ 4-5 മുട്ടകളിടും. [6] മുട്ടകൾക്ക് 18X23 മി.മീ. വലിപ്പമുണ്ട്. പിടയാണ് കൂട് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്. പിട കൂടുണ്ടാക്കുമ്പോൾ പൂവൻ കാവൽ നിൽക്കും.[7] കൂട് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത് വേരുകൾ , ഇലകൾ , തണ്ടുകൾ എന്നിവ കൊണ്ടാണ്. 12-15 ദിവസംകൊണ്ട് മുട്ട വിരിയും. ഇണകൾ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ തീറ്റും.
