ജീവചരിത്രം
[തിരുത്തുക]1895 ഏപ്രിൽ 29 ന് സെന്റ് പീറ്റേഴ്സ്ബർഗിൽ ജർമ്മൻ വംശജരായ ഒരു റഷ്യൻ കുടുംബത്തിലാണ് വ്ളാഡിമിർ പ്രോപ്പ് ജനിച്ചത്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മാതാപിതാക്കളായ യാക്കോവ് ഫിലിപ്പോവിച്ച് പ്രോപ്പും അന്ന-എലിസവേറ്റ ഫ്രിഡ്രിഖോവ്ന പ്രോപ്പും (നീ ബീസൽ) സരടോവ് ഗവർണറേറ്റിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വോൾഗ ജർമ്മൻ സമ്പന്ന കർഷകരായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം സെന്റ് പീറ്റേഴ്സ്ബർഗ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ ചേർന്നു (1913-1918), റഷ്യൻ, ജർമ്മൻ ഭാഷാശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ പ്രാവീണ്യം നേടി.[1] ബിരുദം നേടിയ ശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു സെക്കൻഡറി സ്കൂളിൽ റഷ്യൻ, ജർമ്മൻ ഭാഷകൾ പഠിപ്പിച്ചു, തുടർന്ന് ജർമ്മൻ കോളേജ് അധ്യാപകനായി.
1928-ൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മോർഫോളജി ഓഫ് ദ ഫോക്ടേൽ റഷ്യൻ ഭാഷയിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു. ഇത് ഫോക്ക്ലോറിസ്റ്റിക്സിലും രൂപശാസ്ത്രത്തിലും ഒരു മുന്നേറ്റത്തെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുകയും ക്ലൗഡ് ലെവി-സ്ട്രോസ്, റോളണ്ട് ബാർത്ത് എന്നിവരെ സ്വാധീനിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തെങ്കിലും, 1958-ൽ വിവർത്തനം ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്നതുവരെ പാശ്ചാത്യ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഇത് പൊതുവെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നില്ല. മാധ്യമവിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിൽ, സാഹിത്യം, നാടകം, സിനിമ, ടെലിവിഷൻ പരമ്പരകൾ, ഗെയിമുകൾ തുടങ്ങിയവയിലായാലും മറ്റ് തരത്തിലുള്ള ആഖ്യാനങ്ങളിൽ ഇത് പ്രയോഗിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. എന്നിരുന്നാലും പ്രോപ്പ് ഇത് യക്ഷിക്കഥയുടെ അത്ഭുതത്തിന് പ്രത്യേകമായി പ്രയോഗിച്ചു.
1932-ൽ, പ്രോപ്പ് ലെനിൻഗ്രാഡ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി (മുമ്പ് സെന്റ് പീറ്റേഴ്സ്ബർഗ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി) ഫാക്കൽറ്റിയിൽ അംഗമായി. 1938 ന് ശേഷം, റഷ്യൻ സാഹിത്യ വകുപ്പിന്റെ ഭാഗമാകുന്നതുവരെ അദ്ദേഹം ഫോക്ലോർ വകുപ്പിന്റെ അധ്യക്ഷനായിരുന്നു. 1970-ൽ മരിക്കുന്നതുവരെ പ്രോപ്പ് ഒരു ഫാക്കൽറ്റി അംഗമായി തുടർന്നു.[1]
