ചാറ്റ് കുടുബത്തിൽ പെട്ട ചെറിയ കുരുവിയാണ് വിൻചാറ്റ്. ദേശാടന സ്വഭാവമുള്ള ഇവയെ യൂറോപ്പിലും ഏഷ്യയുടെ ഭാഗങ്ങളിലും കണ്ടു വരുന്നു , ദേശാടന കാലത്തു ഇവ ദീർഘ ദൂരം സഞ്ചരിച്ചു മധ്യ ആഫ്രിക്കയിൽ ആണ് എത്തുന്നത്.

ചെറിയ വാലുള്ള പക്ഷിയാണ് ഇവ തുറന്ന ചെറിയ കുറ്റിച്ചെടികൾ ഉള്ള സഥലത്താണ് സാധാരണ കാണാറ് . പ്രജനന കാലത്തു ഒഴിച്ചാൽ ആണും പെണ്ണും ഒരേ നിറത്തിലാണ് , പ്രജനന കാലത്തു ആൺ കിളികൾക്ക് കഴുത്ത് മുതൽ വയർ വരെ ഉള്ള ഭാഗത്തു ഓറഞ്ച് നിറം വരുന്നു.
