വലിയ മുൾവാലൻ ശരപ്പക്ഷിയെ[2] [3][4][5] ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ Brown-backed Needletail എന്നോ, or Brown Needletail എന്നോ വിളിക്കുന്നു. ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Hirundapus giganteus എന്നുമ്മാണ്. ശരപ്പക്ഷികളിൽ വച്ച് ഏറ്റവും വേഗതയുള്ളതാണ്. വലിയ കൂട്ടങ്ങളായാണ് ഇവയെ കാണുക പതിവ്.
രൂപ വിവരണം[തിരുത്തുക]
ചെറിയ കാലുകളാണ് ഉള്ളത്. അതുപയോഗിച്ച് ലംബമായ പ്രതലത്തിൽ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കാണാവും. ഒരിക്കലും തറയിൽ ഇരിക്കാറില്ല. വായുവിലാണ് അധികവും ജീവിക്കുന്നത്. 23 സെ.മീ. നീളം. കുഴൽ പോലുള്ള ശരീരം. കടുത്ത തവിട്ടുനിറം. അടിവശം വെള്ളയാണ്

ഇന്ത്യ മുതൽ ഇന്തോനേഷ്യ, ഫിലിപ്പീൻസ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലും കാണുന്നു.
പ്രജനനം[തിരുത്തുക]
പാറക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളിലെ ഉയരമുള്ള ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ കൂടു കെട്ടി 3-5 മുട്ടകളിടും.
