ഇന്ത്യയുടെ കീഴിലുള്ള ആൻഡമാൻ ദ്വിപസമൂഹങ്ങളിലെ ഒരു ദ്വീപാണ് "ലോങ്ങ് ദ്വീപ്" എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. ഇന്ത്യയുടെ കേന്ദ്രഭരണപ്രദേശമായ ആൻഡമാൻ നിക്കോബാർ ദ്വീപുകളുടെ ഉത്തര-മദ്ധ്യ ആൻഡമാൻ ഭരണജില്ലയുടെ ഭാഗമാണ് ലോങ്ങ് ദ്വിപുകൾ. പോർട്ട്ബ്ലെയറിൽനിന്നും 80 കിലോമീറ്റർ (50 മൈൽ) അകലെയാണ് ഈ ദ്വീപ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. [3]

[തിരുത്തുക]ആകെ മൂന്നു ഗ്രാമങ്ങളാണ് ഈ ദ്വിപിലുള്ളത്. ലോങ്ങ് ഗ്രാമം, മിഡിൽ ഗ്രാമം, ലാലാജി ഉൾക്കടൽ എന്നിവ. പാർക്കിൻസൻ പൊയിന്റ് ആണ് ദ്വീപിന്റെ എറ്റവും വടക്കൻ അറ്റം. ഈ ദ്വീപിനു സ്വന്തം വിദ്യുച്ഛക്തി ഉത്പാദനകേന്ദ്രവും ബോട്ടുനിർമ്മാണശാലയും സിനിയർ സെക്കന്ററി സ്കൂളും ബാങ്കും വയർലെസ്സ് സൗകര്യങ്ങളും ആശുപത്രിയും റേഞ്ച്ഫോറസ്റ്റ് ഓഫീസും പൊലീസ് ഔട്ട് പോസ്റ്റും ഉണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ റോഡ് ശൃംഖലയില്ല.
