കേരളത്തിൽ, കാസർകോഡ് ജില്ലയിലെ അനന്തപുരം ക്ഷേത്രപരിസരത്തെ ചെങ്കൽപ്പാറയിൽ കണ്ടെത്തിയ സസ്യമാണ് ലെപിഡഗാത്തിസ് അനന്തപുരമെൻസിസ്. [1][2] മാടായിപ്പാറ പോലുള്ള ചെങ്കൽ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ, മുൻപ് ഗവേഷകർ കണ്ടെത്തിയ പാറമുള്ളിനോട്[3][4][5] വളരെയേറെ സാദൃശ്യമുള്ളതാണ് അനന്തപുരമെൻസിസ് സസ്യം. എന്നാൽ, രോമത്തോടുകൂടിയ നിവർന്നുനിൽക്കുന്ന തണ്ട്, ബേസൽ റൂട്ട് സ്റ്റോക്കിൽ മാത്രം ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന വേരുകൾ, രോമമുള്ള സിരകളോടുകൂടിയ ഇലകൾ, നേരത്തേയുള്ള പൂവിടൽ, ഒരുവശത്ത് മാത്രം പർപ്പിൾ കലർന്ന തവിട്ട് നിറമുള്ള നീളമുള്ള പൂങ്കുലകൾ, ഒരു പൂങ്കുലയിൽ 14–30 പൂക്കൾ, നാല് അണ്ഡങ്ങളോടുകൂടിയ അണ്ഡാശയം തുടങ്ങിയവ ഈ ചെടിയുടെ സവിശേഷതകളാണ്.[6]
