ഒരു പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രവർത്തകനും സാമൂഹിക പ്രവർത്തകനുമാണ് റിപു ദാമൻ ബെവ്‌ലി (ജനനം 15 നവംബർ 1987) .[2] ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മാലിന്യം തള്ളൽ പ്രതിസന്ധിക്ക് അദ്ദേഹം നൽകിയ സംഭാവനകൾക്കും പ്ലഗ്ഗിംഗ് എന്ന ആശയം ഇന്ത്യയിൽ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചതിനും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പ്ലഗ്മാൻ എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു.[3] FIT ഇന്ത്യ മൂവ്‌മെന്റിന്റെ അംബാസഡർമാരിൽ ഒരാളാണ് അദ്ദേഹം.[4][5]

ആദ്യകാല ജീവിതം[തിരുത്തുക]

PacketZoom എന്ന സ്റ്റാർട്ടപ്പിന്റെ സെയിൽസ് റോളിലേക്ക് മാറുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് എച്ച്സിഎൽ ഇൻഫോസിസ്റ്റംസ്, അകാമൈ ടെക്നോളജീസ് എന്നിവയുൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള ഇൻഫർമേഷൻ ടെക്നോളജി കമ്പനികളിൽ നിന്നാണ് അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ കരിയർ ആരംഭിച്ചത്.[6]

2017-ൽ അദ്ദേഹം പ്ലഗ്ഗേഴ്‌സ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ പ്രസ്ഥാനം ആരംഭിക്കുകയും 2018-ൽ ജോലി ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.[3] ഈ സംരംഭത്തിന് ആദ്യം My city, My responsibility എന്നായിരുന്നു പേരിട്ടതെങ്കിലും പിന്നീട് പ്ലഗ്ഗേഴ്സ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ എന്നാക്കി മാറ്റി.[7] റണ്ണേഴ്‌സ് കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റിയിൽ മാലിന്യം വലിച്ചെറിയുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അവബോധം വളർത്തുന്നത് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രാരംഭ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് എഫ്‌ഐടി ഇന്ത്യ പ്രസ്ഥാനവും സ്വച്ഛ് ഭാരത് മിഷനും സംയോജിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ലിറ്റർ ഫ്രീ ഇന്ത്യ പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിന് കീഴിൽ എൻ‌ജി‌ഒകളുടെ സഹകരണത്തോടെ സ്‌കൂളുകളിലും മറ്റ് സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലും ശുചിത്വം, പ്ലഗ്ഗിംഗ്, അതിന്റെ ആവശ്യകതകൾ എന്നിവയെക്കുറിച്ച് ബോധവൽക്കരണം നടത്താൻ അദ്ദേഹം തുടങ്ങി.[8][9] 2019 സെപ്റ്റംബറിൽ, പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദിയുടെ റേഡിയോ പ്രോഗ്രാമായ "മൻ കി ബാത്തിന്റെ" 57-ാം എപ്പിസോഡിലേക്ക് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ക്ഷണിച്ചു.[10][11][12]2019 ന്റെ അവസാന പകുതിയിൽ, R|Elan-മായി സഹകരിച്ച് അദ്ദേഹം 'റൺ ടു മേക്ക് ഇന്ത്യ ലിറ്റർ ഫ്രീ' എന്ന കാമ്പെയ്‌ൻ ആരംഭിച്ചു. അവിടെ 2019 സെപ്റ്റംബർ, ഒക്‌ടോബർ മാസങ്ങളിൽ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ 50 നഗരങ്ങളിൽ 1000 കിലോമീറ്റർ ഓടിക്കൊണ്ട് അദ്ദേഹം ശുചീകരണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നടത്തി.[13][14] 2019 ഡിസംബർ 5-ന് ന്യൂഡൽഹിയിലെ ജവഹർലാൽ നെഹ്‌റു സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തിൽ നടന്ന പ്രചാരണത്തിന്റെ ഗ്രാൻഡ് ഫിനാലെയിൽ കിരൺ റിജജു പങ്കെടുത്തു.[15]

2020 സെപ്റ്റംബറിൽ, യു‌എസ്‌എയിലെ ഗ്ലോബൽ ഇംപാക്റ്റ് നെറ്റ്‌വർക്ക് ആദ്യത്തെ 100 ആഗോള ഇംപാക്റ്റ് സിറ്റിസൺമാരിൽ ഒരാളായി ബെവ്‌ലിയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.[7] 2021 മാർച്ചിൽ, കോസ്‌മോപൊളിറ്റൻ 2020-ലെ സോഷ്യൽ മീഡിയ ആക്ടിവിസ്റ്റ് ഓഫ് ദി ഇയർ പുരസ്‌കാരം നൽകി ആദരിച്ചു.[16][17] അതേ മാസം തന്നെ Earthday.org ബെവ്‌ലിയെ ഭൗമദിന നെറ്റ്‌വർക്ക് സ്റ്റാർ ആയി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.[18] മെഴ്‌സിഡസ് ബെൻസ് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ '25 ബെസ്റ്റ് നെവർ റെസ്റ്റ് സ്റ്റോറീസ്' [19], ഓക്‌സിജൻ പ്രോജക്റ്റിന്റെ '5 ഇക്കോ-വാരിയേഴ്‌സ് കൺക്വറിംഗ് ക്ലൈമറ്റ് ചേഞ്ച് ഇൻ ഇന്ത്യ' എന്നീ ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ ബെവ്‌ലിയെ പരാമർശിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.[20] 2020-ലെ കോവിഡ്-19 പാൻഡെമിക് സമയത്ത്, പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഉപയോഗം കുറയ്ക്കുന്നതിന് ശസ്ത്രക്രിയാ മാസ്കുകൾക്ക് പകരം പുനരുപയോഗിക്കാവുന്ന ഫാബ്രിക് മാസ്കുകളുടെ ആവശ്യകതയെക്കുറിച്ച് അവബോധം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നതിനായി ബെവ്‌ലി "പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഉപവാസ" കാമ്പയിൻ ആരംഭിച്ചു.
