ഒരു പ്രസവചികിത്സകനും ഗൈനക്കോളജിസ്റ്റും എൻഡോക്രൈനോളജിസ്റ്റുമാണ് റിക്കാർഡോ ഹെക്ടർ ആഷ് (ജനനം 26 ഒക്ടോബർ 1947)[1]. അദ്ദേഹം പ്രത്യുൽപ്പാദന സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയിലും ഗമെറ്റ് ഇൻട്രാഫാലോപ്പിയൻ ട്രാൻസ്ഫർ (GIFT)യിലും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. കൂടാതെ ഫെർട്ടിലിറ്റിയും മരിജുവാന ഉപയോഗവും ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഗവേഷണത്തിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. [2] ആൻഡ്രൂ ഷാലിയുമായി ചേർന്ന് GnRH അനലോഗ് ഉപയോഗത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് അന്വേഷിച്ചു.[3][4] 1990-കളുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽ, ഇർവിന്റെ ഫെർട്ടിലിറ്റി ക്ലിനിക്കായ കാലിഫോർണിയ സർവകലാശാലയിൽ ശരിയായ സമ്മതമില്ലാതെ സ്ത്രീകളിൽ നിന്ന് വിളവെടുത്ത അണ്ഡാശയം മറ്റ് രോഗികൾക്ക് കൈമാറിയതായി അദ്ദേഹം ആരോപിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ഫെഡറൽ കുറ്റപത്രം സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് ഒരു വർഷം മുമ്പ് ആഷ് അമേരിക്ക വിട്ടു.[5][6] 2008-ൽ അർജന്റീനയിൽ അദ്ദേഹം വിചാരണ ചെയ്യപ്പെടുകയും എല്ലാ കുറ്റങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും കുറ്റവിമുക്തനാക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു.[7] 2011-ൽ മെക്സിക്കോ യുണൈറ്റഡ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ്സിന്റെ കൈമാറ്റ അഭ്യർത്ഥന നിരസിച്ചു. കാരണം ഇത് ഇരട്ട അപകടമുണ്ടാക്കും, പുതിയ തെളിവുകളൊന്നും പുറത്തു വന്നില്ല.[8] അദ്ദേഹം ഇപ്പോൾ മെക്സിക്കോ സിറ്റിയിലാണ് താമസിക്കുന്നത്.[9][10]
