ശ്വാസകോശ നാളിയിലെ മൂക്കളയുടെ ഉയർന്ന സ്രാവം, ക്രോണിക് ഒബ്സ്ട്രക്ടീവ് പൾമൊണറി ഡിസീസ് (COPD) എന്നിവയുമായി ഈ ജീൻ ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.[8]
