CH3(C6H4(OH)COO) എന്ന കെമിക്കൽ ഫോർമുലയുള്ള ഒരു പ്രിസർവേറ്റീവാണ് പാരബെനുകളിൽ ഒന്നായ മീഥൈൽ പാരബെൻ. ഇത് പി-ഹൈഡ്രോക്സിബെൻസോയിക് ആസിഡിന്റെ മീഥൈൽ എസ്റ്ററാണ്.
സ്വാഭാവിക സംഭവങ്ങൾ
[തിരുത്തുക]മെഥൈൽപാരബെൻ പലതരം പ്രാണികൾക്ക് ഒരു ഫെറോമോണായി വർത്തിക്കുന്നു[2] ഇത് ക്വീൻ മാൻഡിബുലാർ ഫെറോമോണിന്റെ ഒരു ഘടകമാണ്.
ആൽഫ ആൺ ചെന്നായ്ക്കളുടെ സ്വഭാവവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട എസ്ട്രസ് സമയത്ത് ഉൽപ്പാദിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ചെന്നായ്ക്കളിലെ ഒരു ഫെറോമോണാണ് ഇത്. മറ്റ് ആൺ ചെന്നായ്ക്കളെ പെൺചെന്നായ്ക്കളുമായി ലൈംഗികമായി സ്വീകാര്യമാകുന്നതിനെ ഇത് തടയുന്നു.[3][4]
ഉപയോഗങ്ങൾ
[തിരുത്തുക]പലതരം സൗന്ദര്യവർദ്ധക വസ്തുക്കളിലും വ്യക്തിഗത പരിചരണ ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങളിലും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ആന്റി ഫംഗൽ ഏജന്റാണ് മീഥൈൽ പാരബെൻ. ഇത് ഒരു ഫുഡ് പ്രിസർവേറ്റീവായും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു കൂടാതെ ഇ-നമ്പർ E218 ആണ്.
ഡ്രോസോഫില ഫുഡ് മീഡിയയിൽ 0.1% എന്ന കുമിൾനാശിനിയായി മീഥൈൽ പാരബെൻ സാധാരണയായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.[5] ഡ്രോസോഫിലയെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം, മീഥൈൽപാരബെൻ ഉയർന്ന സാന്ദ്രതയിൽ വിഷമായ ഈസ്ട്രജനിക് ഫലമുണ്ട് (എലികളിലെ ഈസ്ട്രജനെ അനുകരിക്കുന്നതും ആന്റി-ആൻഡ്രോജെനിക് പ്രവർത്തനം ഉള്ളതും), ലാർവ, പ്യൂപ്പൽ ഘട്ടങ്ങളിലെ വളർച്ചാ നിരക്ക് 0.2% മന്ദഗതിയിലാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.[6]
