ഇന്ത്യയിലെ പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ മധ്യപ്രദേശിലെ മാൽവ[2] പീഠഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള സെബു കന്നുകാലികളുടെ ഇനമാണ് മലവി, മംഥനി അല്ലെങ്കിൽ മഹാദേവ്പുരി എന്നെല്ലാം അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന മാല്വി മാന്തവി അല്ലെങ്കിൽ മഹാദേപുരി എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന മാൽവി . ഇത് ഒരു നല്ല ഉഴവ്/വണ്ടിക്കാള ഇനമാണ്; പശുക്കളുടെ പാൽ വിളവ് കുറവാണ് [3]: 3 മധ്യപ്രദേശിലെ ഷാജാപൂർ ജില്ലയിലെ അഗറിലെ സർക്കാർ കന്നുകാലി വളർത്തൽ ഫാമിൽ 50 വർഷത്തിലേറെയായി ഈയിനം പഠനം നടത്തി [4]
സ്വഭാവഗുണങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]
മാൽവി കന്നുകാലികൾ വെളുത്തതോ വെളുത്തതോ ആയ ചാരനിറത്തിലുള്ളവയാണ് - പുരുഷന്മാരിൽ ഇരുണ്ടത്, കഴുത്ത്, തോളുകൾ, കൊമ്പ്, ക്വാർട്ടേഴ്സ് മിക്കവാറും കറുപ്പ്. പശുക്കളും കാളകളും പ്രായത്തിനനുസരിച്ച് വെളുത്തതായി മാറുന്നു. കൊമ്പുകൾ വളഞ്ഞും വോട്ടെടുപ്പിന്റെ പുറം കോണിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്തേക്കും മുകളിലേക്കും ദിശയിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്തുവരുന്നു, ഏകദേശം 20 - 25 സെന്റിമീറ്റർ നീളമുണ്ട്. പെട്ടെന്നുള്ള ഗതാഗതം, സഹിഷ്ണുത, പരുക്കൻ റോഡുകളിൽ ഭാരം കയറ്റാനുള്ള കഴിവ് എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് മൃഗങ്ങൾ പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. ഈ ഇനത്തിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾ ശക്തവും നന്നായി നിർമ്മിച്ചതുമാണ്.[5]
പാലുത്പാദനം[തിരുത്തുക]
ഈ ഇനത്തിലെ ഒരു കറവക്കാലത്തെ ശരാശരി പാൽ വിളവ് 916 കിലോഗ്രാം ആണ്, 4.3% കൊഴുപ്പും 627 കിലോഗ്രാം മുതൽ 1227 കിലോഗ്രാം വരെയുമാണ്.പാലിലെ കൊഴുപ്പ് 4.5%[6]
