റെമുസേഷ്യ ജനുസ്സിൽ ഉള്ള 50 സെന്റീമീറ്റർ വരെ ഉയരം വയ്ക്കുന്ന ഒരുചെടിയാണ് മരച്ചേമ്പ് (Remusatia vivipara). മിതശീതോഷ്ണ കാലാവസ്ഥയിൽ ലോകമെങ്ങും വളരുന്നു.
വിതരണവും ആവാസ വ്യവസ്ഥയും[തിരുത്തുക]
മധ്യ, പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ആഫ്രിക്ക, ടാൻസാനിയ, എത്യോപ്യ മുതൽ സിയറ ലിയോൺ ഒമാൻ, യെമൻ, തായ്‌വാൻ, ടിബറ്റ്, യുനാൻ, ഇന്ത്യ, ഇന്തോചൈന, ജാവ, വടക്കൻ ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയ വരെ മരച്ചേമ്പ് കണ്ടുവരുന്നു.[2] ഉപ ഉഷ്ണമേഖലാ വനങ്ങളിലും, പാറകളിലും, സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്ന് 700 മീറ്റർ -1900 മീറ്റർ ഉയരത്തിലുള്ള മലഞ്ചെരിവുകളിലും റെമുസേഷ്യ വിവിപാറ കാണാം.[3]
ഏഷ്യയിൽ ഇത് അപൂർവ്വമായേ പുഷ്പിക്കാറുള്ളൂ, ആഫ്രിക്കയിൽ ഇത് ഒരിക്കലും പൂക്കില്ല, അറേബ്യയിൽ റെമുസേഷ്യ വിവിപാര പൂവിടുന്നതായി കണ്ടിട്ടേയില്ല. എന്നിരുന്നാലും, ചെടിയിൽ കാണുന്ന ചെറിയ ബൾബിലുകൾ എളുപ്പത്തിൽ വേർപെട്ട് പക്ഷികളുടെ തൂവലുകളിൽ പറ്റിപ്പിടിച്ച് നൂറുകണക്കിന് കിലോമീറ്റർ സഞ്ചരിക്കാം. ഇത് സ്പീഷിസുകളുടെ വിശാലമായ വിതരണത്തിന് കാരണമാകുന്നു.[4]

ഓക്സലേറ്റ് പരലുകൾ നിർജ്ജീവമാക്കുന്നതിന് വറുത്തോ തിളപ്പിച്ചോ കിഴങ്ങുകൾ നന്നായി പാകം ചെയ്തശേഷം ഭക്ഷ്യയോഗ്യമാണ്. ഇവ കറികളിൽ ചേർത്ത് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ കഴിക്കുന്നു.[5]
