വടക്കേന്ത്യയിലും നേപ്പാളിലും സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ഇന്തോ-ആര്യൻ ഭാഷയാണ് ഭോജ്പൂരി. ബീഹാറിലും ഉത്തർ പ്രദേശിലും ജാർഖണ്ഡിലുമാണ് ഇത് പ്രധാനമായും സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്.

എഴുത്തുരീതി

കൈതി ലിപിയിലാണ് ഇത് എഴുതുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ 1894ൽ ദേവനാഗരിയെ പ്രാഥമിക ലിപിയായി സ്വീകരിച്ചു. 16-ആം നൂറ്റാണ്ടുമുതൽ 20-ആം നൂറ്റാണ്ടു വരെ ഭോജ്പുരി, അവാധി, മൈഥിലി, ഉറുദു, മഗതി, ഹിന്ദി എന്നീ ഭാഷകൾ എഴുതാനാണ് കൈതി ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നത്. 1960ൽ സർക്കാർ കൈതി ഇപ്പോൾ ബീഹാറിലെ കുറച്ചു ജില്ലകളിലേ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നുള്ളൂ എന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തി.
