ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്സ്
ഭാരതീയ ഇതിഹാസങ്ങളിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു ദേവതയാണ് ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ് (English:Brahmarakṣasa).[1][2] ദുർമ്മരണപ്പെട്ട ബ്രാഹ്മണനായ വ്യകതിയുടെ പ്രേതമാണ് ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസായി മാറുന്നത് എന്നാണ് ഐതിഹ്യം. [3][4]രക്ഷസ് എന്നാൽ രക്തം കുടിക്കുന്ന പിശാച് എന്നർത്ഥം. വിക്രമാദിത്യ കഥകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള ഇതിഹാസ കാവ്യങ്ങളിൽ ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്സുകളെക്കുറിച്ച് പരാമർശിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ദുർമൂർത്തികളായും, സത്ദേവതകളായും ഇവ ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. പുരാതന ഹിന്ദു ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ച്, അവർ ശക്തരായ പൈശാചിക ആത്മാവാണ്. അവർക്ക് ധാരാളം ശക്തികളുണ്ട്.[3]
