ബഹ കാലിഫോർണിയയിൽ മാത്രം കാണപ്പെടുന്ന തദ്ദേശീയ വൃക്ഷമാണ് ബോജൂം ട്രീ. തടിക്ക് ഉദ്ദേശം 24 സെ.മീ വരെ വണ്ണം വെയ്ക്കാറുണ്ട്, ശാഖകൾ മുകളിലേക്ക് മാത്രം ആണ് വളരാറുള്ളത്, ഇലകൾക്ക് ഒന്നര മുതൽ നാലു സ. മീ വരെ ആണ് നീളം വെയ്ക്കാറ്, എഴുപതടി പൊക്കത്തിൽ വരെ ഇവ വളരുന്നു.[2] ഈ ജെനുസിൽ പെട്ട ഏക ഉപവർഗ്ഗമാണ് ഈ മരം.
അരിസോണയിലെ ടസ്കണിലുള്ള ഡെസേർട്ട് ലബോറട്ടറിയിലെ ഗോഡ്ഫ്രെ സൈക്സ് ആണ് സസ്യത്തിന്റെ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് നാമം ബോജൂം നൽകിയത്. ലൂയിസ് കരോളിന്റെ "ദി ഹണ്ടിംഗ് ഓഫ് ദി സ്നാർക്ക്" എന്ന കവിതയിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഈ പദം അദ്ദേഹം നാമകരണത്തിനായി എടുത്തത്.[3][4][5]
