ഒന്നാം ലോകമഹായുദ്ധാനന്തരം സിറിയ, ലെബനാൻ എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങൾ ഭരിക്കാനായി സർവ്വരാജ്യസഖ്യം ഫ്രാൻസിന് നൽകിയ അനുവാദമാണ് ഫ്രെഞ്ച് മാൻഡേറ്റ് (French: Mandat pour la Syrie et le Liban; അറബി: الانتداب الفرنسي على سوريا ولبنان al-intidāb al-fransi 'ala suriya wa-lubnān) (1923−1946)[1] എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.[2] 1923 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 29 ന്[3] ആരംഭിച്ച മാൻഡേറ്റ് രാജ്യങ്ങൾ 1943-ൽ സ്വതന്ത്രരാജ്യങ്ങളായി മാറിയതിന് ശേഷം അവസാനിച്ചെങ്കിലും 1946-ലാണ് ഫ്രെഞ്ച് സൈന്യം പിൻവലിഞ്ഞത്.[4]
1918-ൽ യുദ്ധം അവസാനിച്ച് രണ്ടുവർഷത്തിനിടയിൽ ബ്രിട്ടനും ഫ്രാൻസും ഒപ്പുവച്ച സൈക്ക്സ്-പിക്കോട്ട് കരാറിന് അനുസൃതമായി ഒട്ടോമൻ സാമ്രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായിരുന്ന സിറിയയും ലെബനോനും ഫ്രാൻസിന്റെ മാൻഡേറ്റിൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ പലസ്തീൻ-ട്രാൻസ്ജോർദ്ദാൻ എന്നിവ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് മാൻഡേറ്റിലാണ് വന്നത്.[2] ഔദ്യോഗികമായി മാൻഡേറ്റ് [5]എന്നറിയപ്പെട്ടെങ്കിലും ഫലത്തിൽ ഫ്രാൻസിന്റെ കോളനിയായി മാറുകയാണ് ഉണ്ടായത്.
