2010 മാർച്ചു് 20, 21 തീയതികളിൽ ബാംഗ്ലൂരിൽ ചേർന്ന സ്വതന്ത്ര സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയർ ദേശീയ സമ്മേളനത്തിൽ വെച്ചു്, ഇന്ത്യയിലെ സ്വതന്ത്ര സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയർ രംഗത്ത് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന വിവിധ പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ ചേർന്നു് രൂപീകരിച്ച ഏകീകൃത സംഘടനയാണു് ഫ്രീ സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയർ മൂവ്മെന്റ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ[1][2][3][4] [5][6][7]. കേരളത്തിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന സ്വതന്ത്ര വിജ്ഞാന ജനാധിപത്യ സഖ്യത്തിന്റെ കൺവീനറായ ജോസഫ് തോമസു് ആണു് ഈ സംഘടനയുടെ പ്രസിഡന്റു്. FSF-India - യുടെ ഡയറക്ടർ ബോർഡു് അംഗമായ ശ്രീ:കിരൺചന്ദ്രയാണു് ഈ സംഘടനയുടെ ജനറൽ സെക്രട്ടറി[8].
ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]
ഫ്രീ സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയർ മൂവ്മെന്റ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ വിശാലമായൊരു വേദിയിൽ സ്വതന്ത്ര സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയറിന്റെ പ്രചരണത്തിനും, വ്യാപനത്തിനും വേണ്ടി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് ഈ സംഘടനയ്ക് രൂപംകൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതെന്നാണ് ഈ സംഘടനയുടെ അവകാശവാദം. സ്വതന്ത്ര സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയർ പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ജനകീയാടിത്തറ വിപുലപ്പെടുത്തികൊണ്ടും, സംഘടനക്കു് ഒരു ജനാധിപത്യഘടന സ്വീകരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടും മാത്രമേ ഇതു സാധിക്കുള്ളുവെന്നു് ഈ സംഘടനയുടെ പ്രവർത്തകർ കരുതുന്നു. സ്വതന്ത്ര സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയറിന്റെ ക്രിയാത്മക ഉപയോഗത്തിലൂടെ സമൂഹത്തിലെ സാങ്കേതികരംഗത്തെ ഉച്ചനീചത്വങ്ങൾ കുറച്ചു്, അവശ ജനവിഭാഗങ്ങളുടെ ശാക്തീകരണത്തിനായി പരിശ്രമിക്കലും ഒരു പ്രധാന പ്രവർത്തനമായി ഈ സംഘടന ഏറ്റെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ടു്. ഒരു ജനകീയ സ്വതന്ത്ര സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയർ പ്രസ്ഥാനം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുകയാണ് ഈ സംഘടനയുടെ പൊതു ലക്ഷ്യമെന്നും ഇതിന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശലക്ഷ്യങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു. വിവാദം[തിരുത്തുക]
നിലവിലുള്ള സ്വതന്ത്ര സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയർ പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളെ സി.പി.ഐ. എമ്മിന്റെ സഹായത്തോടെ പിടിച്ചടക്കാനുള്ള ഒരു ശ്രമമാണ് DAKF ഉം FSMI എന്നീ സംഘടനകളെന്നത് ഒരു വിവാദമാണ് [11]
