Purpose[തിരുത്തുക]
The WBFpeople template message is used to advise readers of the availability of details of a person's record of participation and standing in major international bridge tournaments; it also provides a direct link to the World Bridge Federation (WBF) website for that person's record. The person's record at the European Bridge League (EBL) is the same, with the same interface.
Usage[തിരുത്തുക]
The template is usually placed in the External links or References section of a contract bridge player's Wikipedia article to link it to that person's international record at the WBF webpage, "Bridge People". The URL for someone's record at Bridge People currently ends with a numerical id such as 1122 for Rixi Markus:
The template uses two parameters, id and name. The former is required for the external link to locate the desired person's record and the latter is optional to change the displayed name from the default displayed name (which is the article name in which the template is used).
Parameter = id[തിരുത്തുക]
In order to find the WBF webpage for the record of a person and determine that person's id number, either:
- (a) Do a Google search for the record
- Google
wbf bridge people rixi markus, or
- Google
- (b) Go to the "Bridge People" search page and search for the surname. (If the surname is unknown, try different parts of the known name separately.)
Once the correct webpage is found, the id number for the person can be seen at the end of the URL shown in the browser.
Use of the id parameter in the template is required to link to the correct record at the WBF website. Failure to include it will result in being taken to the WBF webpage for search options.
Parameter = name[തിരുത്തുക]
The template may be used anywhere at Wikipedia. Since it is designed primarily for use in biographical articles, it is designed to display by default the title of the article in which it is used. To change this, the parameter name is used to designate the displayed name.
Parameter = accessdate[തിരുത്തുക]
This optional but preferred paramaeter indicates the date of the most recent successful access to the named player's record at the WBF website.

Using the template with parameter id=1122 (for Rixi Markus) in the article "Rixi Markus".

The numerical id may be given without explicit 'id='. The display name may be given without explicit 'name=', if the numerical id is given first. The name may be given first with the help of explicit 'name='.
These three alternatives also work identically in the article "Rixi Markus".

The displayed name is, by default, the name of the article in which the template is used but the target of the link is the Rixi MARKUS record at WBF Bridge People because id=1122 has been given as the id parameter.
