• This template creates a link to a WP:RFC/NAME discussion opened on a given username.
• This template takes one expected parameter: the exact and correct username (without the prefix "User:") of the RFC's subject, for instance {{rfcn|John Doe}}. If this is not provided, the default will be the "basepagename" where this template is posted, for instance the username of a user page or user-talk page.
• If you wish to link to an archived RFC page and section, look up the last archived page of that discussion, copy the "oldid=" number, and paste it into this template as the (optional) parameter oldid, for instance {{rfcn|John Doe|oldid=123456789}}.
• This template will provide a default link label, either Current WP:RFC/NAME on "John Doe" (without an oldid parameter) or Archived WP:RFC/NAME on "John Doe" (with an oldid parameter). If you wish a different link label, such as "here", provide it as a second unnamed parameter after the username, for instance {{rfcn|John Doe|here|oldid=123456789}}.
