The template shows a periodic table with small cells. Each cell is wikilinked to the element's article, and the background color is the category as used (commonly) on this wiki.

Marking individual cells

Using the |mark= parameter can highlight individual cells. Use the chemical symbol, and separate by comma.

Marking by group or by category

A category can be marked by its name.

Extended periodic table

When number>=119, the table is expanded with groups 8, 9 and 10, and period 7 is fully colored ("predicted", lighter colors). This number is not used in any other way.
